One of the highest-grossing movies of 2022 will soon be available to watch on a top streaming platform. Here’s a look at when “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be available on Disney+.

The movie, released by Walt Disney Co DIS, went on to be the second highest-grossing domestic movie of 2022 at $436.5 million. The movie also ranked sixth in worldwide 2022 gross at $821.7 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be released on Disney+ on Feb. 1, 2023, according to a tweet from the company.

This marked a window of 82 days between the theatrical opening of the movie and availability on the streaming platform, which was on the higher side of recent Marvel movies.

Why It’s Important: The release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” could be among the most anticipated titles on the streaming platform in 2023.

Along with the movie, Disney was also releasing new episodes of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” and “Willow” in January and February and will premiere the third season of “The Mandalorian” on March 1, 2023.

Disney ended the fourth quarter with 164.2 million total Disney+ subscribers. The company launched an ad-supported plan in December that could increase subscriber figures and also raise the revenue per user with the ad-free plan going up in price.

DIS Price Action: Disney shares are up 3.20% to $91.84 on Wednesday versus a 52-week range of $84.07 to $159.38.
