Mattel Inc MAT introduced a unique twist to its classic quickdraw game, Pictionary. This iteration, Pictionary Vs. AI, integrates cutting-edge AI technology, allowing the AI to guess as players sketch.

In the latest release, players not only sketch but can also anticipate the AI's predictions on the drawings of fellow participants.

By leveraging this interactive setup, the game's essence remains intact, but it's less about the finesse of drawing and more about the ensuing hilarity. Players can also play special challenge rounds, such as drawing blindfolded or without hands, accessed via a web application.

Sven Gerjets, executive vice president and CTO at Mattel, said "Mattel is excited to introduce Pictionary Vs. AI, bringing technological advancement to create new and exciting challenges to fans who love the classic game."

By scanning a QR code, the AI feature is activated. Powering this innovation is Google's Quick, Draw! AI, which was trained on millions of user-submitted sketches.

Coupled with computer vision, the AI processes and guesses the sketches displayed on the game's whiteboard.

For those who want to witness the game before it goes on sale, Mattel plans to unveil Pictionary Vs. AI at the Code Conference in Orange County, California, Sept. 26 and 27. The game will be available at retail starting Oct. 2; pre-order begins Sept. 27 at Mattel Shop.

The game has been accredited by ESRB Privacy Certified and meets COPPA compliance, making it suitable for children aged 8 and above.

MAT Price Action: Mattel shares are trading lower by 0.32% at $21.52 on the last check Tuesday.
