Best-selling author Ben Mezrich, who last chronicled the meme-stock saga of GameStop Corp GME, will tell the story of Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter next.

What Happened: Mezrich expects a Nov. 7 release date for “Breaking Twitter: Elon Musk and the Most Controversial Corporate Takeover in History.”

“The next one. Five weeks away. Oh boy this one is going to make some noise. Half of you will hate it. The other half will love it. But hopefully all of you will buckle up for the most wild ride of the season," Mezrich stated on social media.

Why It Matters: Mezrich also authored “Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas For Millions” and “The Accidental Millionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal.” Those best-selling books became the major motion pictures “21” and “The Social Network,” respectively.

In 2021, Mezrich authored “The Antisocial Network: The GameStop Short Squeeze and the Ragtag Group of Amateur Traders That Brought Wall Street to Its Knees.” The book inspired the movie “Dumb Money” from Sony Group Corp SONY. It is currently in theaters.

Mezrich's "Breaking Twitter" follows the recent release of “Elon Musk,” a biography from bestselling author Walter Isaacson, who spent months with Musk and provided a first-hand account of what went down when Twitter was sold.

“Elon Musk” sold over 92,000 print copies in its first week, ranking as the second-best first week for a business-related biography.
