Thousands Are Buying Weed In North Carolina's Only Weed Shop

Cannabis sales are booming in North Carolina's only legal store selling recreational marijuana. Great Smoky, located on the 57,000-acre Qualla Boundary of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI,) has been serving all adults 21 and older for a couple of weeks.

The shop at 91 Bingo Loop Road in Cherokee, Swain County, has been selling recreational marijuana as of Saturday, Sept. 7, only to see thousands of customers making cannabis purchases, reported Marijuana Moment.

Forrest Parker, general manager for Qualla Enterprises, which operates Great Smoky Cannabis Co., told Cherokee One Feather it's "validating" to see people standing in line to get their cannabis products.

Four News Cannabis Stores Open In Florida Amid Marijuana Legalization Debate

Meanwhile, in Florida, medical cannabis giant Trulieve Cannabis Corp. TRUL TCNNF revealed that it will be hosting grand opening celebrations at two new stores on Friday, Sept. 27.

Trulieve Lake Worth Hypoluxo is located at 4660 Hypoluxo Road; Trulieve Hudson at 11909 State Road 52. Both locations will carry a variety of products including Trulieve’s portfolio of in-house brands such as Alchemy, Co2lors, Cultivar Collection, Modern Flower, Momenta, Muse, Roll One, Sweet Talk, and Trekkers.

Customers will also have access to the company's partner brands: Alien Labs, Bellamy Brothers, Binske, Black Tuna, Blue River, Connected Cannabis, DeLisioso, Khalifa Kush, Love’s Oven, Miami Mango, O.pen, Seed Junky and Sunshine Cannabis.

RISE Dispensaries, a cannabis retail chain owned by Green Thumb Industries Inc. GTII GTBIF opened its newest location, RISE Jacksonville, on Friday, Sept. 13.

Located at 9421 Baymeadows Road, the dispensary marked the 20th RISE location in the Sunshine State and the 98th nationwide.

Verano Holdings Corp. (Cboe CA: VRNO) VRNOF kicked off sales at MÜV Melbourne and MÜV Okeechobee on Friday, Sept. 13.

The company raised its retail footprint to 79 Florida dispensaries and 152 retail locations nationwide.

MÜV Melbourne, located at 7660 N Wickham Road, and MÜV Okeechobee, located at 510 NE Park Street feature online menus for browsing their extensive product selection, including the company's signature Verano Reserve, MÜV and Sweet Supply flower, Encore edibles, On the Rocks concentrates and extracts, and (the) Essence and Savvy flower and extracts, spanning an extensive array of options for patients.

Both Trulieve and Verano are active supporters of the Smart and Safe Florida campaign advocating for the passage of the Amendment 3 ballot initiative to legalize adult-use cannabis statewide.

New York's Cannabis Dispensary Tour Amid New Store Openings

In New York, Democratic Assembly member John Zaccaro and cannabis fin-tech company Dutchie visited three prominent cannabis dispensaries in the Bronx earlier this month. The tour highlighted the role of these businesses in the community alongside ongoing efforts to combat the illicit market.

Florida-based medical cannabis company The Flowery recently announced the opening of its newest store in the neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens. The grand opening event at a new store at 63-54 108th Street in Forest Hills, New York, follows the launch of the company's first New York location in Staten Island. The store features a direct-to-consumer (DTC) delivery program.

New Cannabis Stores In Five States

In the Golden State, cannabis retail brand Solful will open its third dispensary location in Healdsburg on Oct.11. Solful already boasts award-winning dispensaries in San Francisco and Sebastopol,

Located at 465 Healdsburg Ave in Healdsburg, the new store will offer locally sourced cannabis products, featuring 40 cannabis varieties from local farms.

International cannabis and lifestyle brand Cookies held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 20 at its new medical marijuana dispensary in Louisiana in partnership with Capitol Wellness Solutions. Cookies by Capitol Wellness is a 4,800 square feet store and it offers a wide variety of Cookies products and merchandise such as flower, metered-dose inhalers, extracts, edibles, tinctures and creams.

Cannabis dispensary Sweetspot Farms at 139 Pearl St in Essex Junction, Vermont is now open to cannabis customers. The new store has a strong focus on consumer education and service.

High Haven Cannabis held a grand opening event at a retail dispensary in Elgin, Illinois, on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Vertically-integrated cannabis company Ascend Wellness Holdings, Inc. AAWH AAWH opened its fifth medical dispensary in Pennsylvania, located in Whitehall. The expansion marks the company's 39th location across its seven-state footprint.
