Don't Want To Tip On Your DoorDash Delivery? You May Have To Wait Longer For Your Grub, Says Company: Report

DoorDash Inc. DASH has warned its users about potential delays in food delivery if the delivery driver is not tipped, reported The Wall Street Journal.

The food delivery giant has hinted that customers who choose not to tip their delivery drivers might have to wait longer to receive their meals. This news comes amid heightened scrutiny of working conditions in the gig economy and the importance of gratuities in supplementing incomes.

The move could potentially impact customer satisfaction, as faster delivery times have traditionally been a major selling point for food delivery apps. However, it also brings to light the significance of tips in the overall earnings of delivery drivers.

It remains to be seen how this warning from DoorDash will impact customer tipping behavior, and in turn, the delivery times for non-tippers.

As of closing on Tuesday, DoorDash shares were traded at $74.95.
