Justice Department Seeks Prison Time For Woman That Stole Diary Of Joe Biden's Daughter Containing 'Highly Personal Entries'

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is advocating for imprisonment for Aimee Harris, the woman who pilfered Ashley Biden’s diary and sold it to a media outlet, Project Veritas, prior to the 2020 presidential elections.

Harris had been temporarily residing at Ashley Biden’s home in Delray Beach, Florida, in September 2020 when she took the diary containing “highly personal entries,” tax records, a cellphone, and family photos. Robert Kurlander was reported to have assisted Harris in selling the stolen items, reported The Hill.

Project Veritas, a New York-based controversial media outlet, paid Harris and Kurlander $20,000 each for the diary and other materials. However, the organization never published the diary; it was published on a different website. James O'Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, stated that he didn’t publish it due to unverified authenticity.

Federal prosecutors have asked Judge Laura Swain for a prison sentence of four to ten months for Harris, followed by three years of supervised release. The request came after Harris delayed her sentencing hearing 12 times for reasons prosecutors termed inadequate.

Prosecutors argued that Harris repeatedly engaged in tactics to improperly delay the proceeding, including providing false information and failing to comply with court orders. They emphasized that a sentence involving merely probation will not deter Harris from continuing to disregard the law.

Harris and Kurlander pleaded guilty to one count of a conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property from an immediate family member of a former government official who was running for national office.
