The manufacturer aims to resume operations by mid-October, with the first batch of Egrifta SV slated for production on October 21.
Theratechnologies must file a Prior Approval Supplement (PAS) with the FDA detailing changes made at the facility, which is expected around the manufacturing date. The FDA typically reviews PAS filings within four months.
As the company&#8217;s annual <a target="_blank" href="https://www.theratech.com/static-files/e2cd4c2e-6d00-4f3d-9197-f588856fa98e" rel="noreferrer noopener">filing</a>, it does not own or operate its manufacturing facilities and relies on third-party suppliers, such as Bachem, Jubilant, and Lyophilization Services of New England, to produce Egrifta SV.
The company has not qualified alternative manufacturers, and the validation process for new suppliers could take up to three years, complicating any potential transition.

Single women have historically led the way in single-person homeownership, according to Realtor.com senior economist Ralph McLaughlin.
In 2023, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/real-estate/24/05/38988203/charlie-munger-said-homeownership-is-for-families-the-single-people-i-dont-care-if-they-ever-get-a-h">single women accounted for 19% of all homebuyers</a>. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that single women own 20.3 million homes in the U.S., compared to 14.9 million owned by single men.

"Single-female <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/09/40735607/dont-buy-a-home-unless-you-can-afford-to-waste-money-grant-cardone-thinks-your-dream-home-might-">homeownership</a> tends to be in more aged markets and at least partially reflects the fact that females tend to outlive males and that older females are more likely to be divorced and widowed," McLaughlin said.
Real estate agents report that many of their clients are female SINKS (single income, no kids).

"I have a lot of SINK clients and most of them are women between the ages of 35 and 65," said Stacy Miller, a real estate agent with Re/Max Fine Properties in Phoenix.
Miller said many of her older SINK clients relocate to Arizona from other states to be closer to grown children, grandchildren or aging parents or because they are newly divorced or widowed.

SINKs prioritize safety and security and are often drawn to areas where they can get more value for their money.
"Regardless of gender, single-person homeownership tends to be higher in smaller, less expensive markets, presumably where it's easier for single-income households to afford homes," McLaughlin said.
In 2022, eight of the top 10 metro areas for single-family homeownership had median home prices below the national average.

The top five metros for single female ownership are Barnstable Town, Massachusetts; Topeka, Kansas; Rocky Mount, North Carolina; Wildwood-The Villages, Florida; and Ocala, Florida.
Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is the top spot for single male ownership and Ohio is the most popular state for single male homeowners.
The No. 1 advantage of being a SINK homeowner is the freedom to decide solely based on personal preferences.
"In my experience, SINKs' decision-making process is much more efficient because they don't have to compromise to the wants or needs of another or ‘be on the same page' with a co-buyer," said Robert Dodson, sales manager and broker at Charles Burt Realtors in Joplin, Missouri.

SINKs also don't have to factor in school districts, giving them more flexibility in choosing where to buy. They can focus on urban, walkable areas with vibrant nightlife without prioritizing a kid-friendly neighborhood.
For SINKs, the ability to afford a home on a single income is a major consideration when deciding whether to purchase a property.
The typical monthly mortgage payment – based on a median list price of $438,950, a 6.49% mortgage rate and a 20% down payment – is about $2,222, not including taxes, insurance and other fees.

Single Income, No Kids? The Rise Of the SINK Homebuyers And How Much You Need To Buy Solo

Charles Schwab Corp. (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/schw#NYSE">SCHW</a>) remains well-positioned for growth, driven by higher rates, opportunistic acquisitions and rising client assets. However, a mounting expense base and subdued trading revenues are worrisome.
<h2>Tailwinds for Schwab</h2>
High Interest Rates to Aid Net Interest Margin: Schwab&#39;s net interest margin&nbsp;is likely to improve in the near term, supported by the existing high-interest rate scenario. The company&#39;s NIM expanded to 1.98% in 2023 from 1.78% in 2022 and 1.45% in 2021 on account of high rates. However, due to rising funding costs, NIM did not experience growth in the first half of 2024.
Though high funding costs and low-yielding assets on the company&#39;s balance sheet are anticipated to weigh on the metric to some extent, high rates will likely aid NIM to some degree. We project NIM to be 2.13%, 2.83% and 3.13% in 2024, 2025 and 2026, respectively.
Strategic Acquisitions to Boost Client Assets: Schwab&#39;s proactive efforts to expand its client base in advisory solutions have been bearing fruit. The company&#39;s advice solution revenues reflected a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.4% in the last five years (2018-2023). The momentum continued in the first six months of 2024.
The acquisitions of USAA&#39;s Investment Management Company, Wasmer, Schroeder &amp; Company, LLC and Motif&#39;s technology and intellectual property have strengthened the company&#39;s presence and diversified revenues.
Though the company reduced fees on certain advice solution products, revenues from these offerings witnessed growth as average client asset balances improved. SCHW&#39;s total client assets experienced a 21.2% CAGR in the five years ended 2023, primarily driven by the buyouts completed during the period. Our estimates for total client assets suggest a CAGR of 6.2% by 2026.
Encouraging Capital Distributions: As of June 30, 2024, SCHW&#39;s cash and cash equivalents were $25.4 billion, while total debt (comprising long-term debt, Federal Home Loan Bank borrowings and other short-term borrowings) was $56.8 billion.
The company&#39;s emphasis on keeping a low-cost capital structure has been supporting its capital distributions. In January 2023, the company announced a 14% hike in its quarterly dividend and has retained the same since then.

Mounting Expense Base: Rising operating expenses are likely to hamper Schwab&#39;s bottom line. Though expenses dipped in the first half of 2024, the metric witnessed a 17.5% CAGR in the past five years (ended 2023). This rise was due to high compensation, benefit costs and acquisitions.

While management anticipates adjusted operating expenses to rise only 2% this year, the company is expected to continue investing to bolster long-term growth and solidify business efficiency. Further, costs tied to compensation and regulatory spending, as well as strategic buyouts, are anticipated to keep operating expenses elevated in the near term.
Expenses are expected to decline 5.1% in 2024, but rise 2.3% in 2025.
Subdued Trading Revenues: Though the capital markets performance has improved recently, Schwab&#39;s trading revenues are anticipated to remain under pressure for some time.
The company&#39;s trading revenues dipped in 2022, 2023 and the first six months of 2024 because of subdued market volatility and reduced client activity. However, SCHW has been undertaking several initiatives and opportunistic buyouts to build a client base and enhance its trading income.
Nonetheless, the uncertainty surrounding the performance of the capital markets raises concerns regarding potential growth in trading revenues. Additionally, the ongoing geopolitical environment suggests that volatility and client activity are unlikely to see significant improvement in the near term.
SCHW currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Year to date, shares of the company have lost 7.6%, underperforming the industry&#39;s growth of 14.2%.

For the third quarter of 2024, the company continues to expect&nbsp;sales of $3.7 billion (vs. consensus of $3.71 billion) and EPS in the range of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">$0.50 &#8211; $0.54 (vs. consensus of $0.53)</a>.
Wendell P. Weeks, chairman and chief executive officer, said, &#8220;I&#8217;m very pleased with the progress we have made on our &#8216;Springboard&#8217; plan to add more than&nbsp;$3 billion&nbsp;in annualized sales by 2026. Corning&#8217;s Optical Communications division is showing positive momentum, with Enterprise sales projected to increase by over 40% Y/Y in the third quarter, driven by strong adoption of its generative AI products.
The company is unveiling a new range of products designed to interconnect AI-enabled data centers.
This launch supports Lumen Technologies Inc.&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LUMN#NYSE">LUMN</a>) network expansion and represents the first deployment of Corning&#8217;s next-generation AI fiber-and-cable system in outside plant environments.
In July, Corning reported a fiscal second-quarter 2024 core sales growth of 4% year-on-year to $3.60 billion, beating the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/07/40041518/corning-stock-drops-after-q3-guidance-miss-ceo-highlights-new-optical-connectivity-products-for-gen" rel="noreferrer noopener">analyst consensus estimate of $3.55 billion</a>.&nbsp;
