Intuit, Star Bulk Carriers, Leidos And A Big Retailer On CNBC's 'Final Trades'

On CNBC’s "Halftime Report Final Trades," Kevin Simpson of Capital Wealth Planning said Walmart Inc. WMT reported great earnings and increased their dividend by 9.3%.

On Feb. 20, Walmart reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results. The company posted quarterly FY24 net sales growth of 5.7% year-over-year to $173.39 billion, beating the consensus of $170.71 billion. Adjusted EPS was $1.80, beating the consensus of $1.65. The stock price gained after the results. Walmart also agreed to buy VIZIO Holding Corp VZIO for $11.50 per share in cash, equating to a fully diluted equity value of approximately $2.3 billion.

Jenny Harrington of Gilman Hill Asset Management, LLC said Star Bulk Carriers Corp. SBLK exceeded earnings estimates and raised their dividend more than expected.

On Feb. 12, Star Bulk Carriers posted upbeat sales for its fourth quarter.

Steve Weiss of Short Hills Capital Partners said Leidos Holdings, Inc. LDOS is "cheap."

On Feb. 13, Leidos reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results on Feb. 13. The company reported fourth-quarter FY23 revenue growth of 8% year-over-year to $3.98 billion, beating the consensus of $3.80 billion. It clocked an adjusted EPS of $1.99, up 9% year-over-year, beating the consensus of $1.74.

Joe Terranova of Virtus Investment Partners named Intuit Inc. INTU, which is nearing its all-time high.

On Feb. 22, Intuit said second-quarter revenue increased 11% year-over-year to $3.39 billion, which was in line with the consensus estimate. The company reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $2.63 per share, which beat analyst estimates of $2.30 per share.
